My 2005 toyota tundra has 217k miles and is, mechanically, in terrific shape, except the frame has rusted out on the drivers side. Structurally, it's still drivable safely, but it will no longer pass state inspection (maine, usa). The frame of the truck was recalled for excessive rust. The dealer sprayed on a coating per the recall in 2013. The coating has all flaked off and the frame is losing chunks of rust. Toyota know about this problem but won't do anything about it once they spray the defective coating on it. The truck frame needs replaced and they won't do it.
