Two items here: first i went to change my tire with my spare and it was missing. The tire service company said the tire must have fallen off somewhere as the cable holding the spare tire was rusted off. 2nd, i had my tundra put up on a lift to see what the banging sound was. One of the shock's connections was rusted off and just hanging. He also stated that the whole frame and crankcase on the rear drive area looked…

Standard wheels trap and retain water. This causes seals on tire pressure monitor valve stems to be submerged in trapped water (or ice in cold weather) causing premature deterioration of valve stem seals. This has caused failure of seals on 2 separate wheels on 2 separate occasions. Vehicle is less than 5 years old with less than 35k miles. Vehicle has not been in any accidents due to this problem. 1st event was…

Three studs or lugs broke off my right front wheel while driving, causing it to completely break off and damage the right front part of my truck. Thankfully i wasn't driving very fast or it would of been much worse. I've taken it to the shop and had it repaired. The mechanics say this should not have happened. I'm afraid my other wheels my do this as well. My truck is a 2014 toyota tundra plat 4x4

Bought truck new in 8/2001. Brought truck to dealer when it was recalled for rust in 2012 and was told rust wasn't bad enough to do anything. Brought truck back to dealer multiple times after 2012 (last in 11/18) and was told everything was fine on each occasion. In 8/2019 i heard a squeak from undercarriage and when i looked, the spare tire crossmember was hanging down and the right side upper shock mount was…

Front lower ball joint recall or lack thereof. There is a current recall for toyota tundras year 2002-2004 but does not include 2000-2001 that have lower ball joints of the same design. Mine failed and so have several others around the country. Many customers have reported that their respective dealerships will not cover the repairs due to a manufacturer failed lower ball joint. I have attached a photo of the result…

At only 77,000 miles the axle bearings have failed. This is unbelievable since sealed bearings are supposed to last the lifetime of the vehicle. The toyota dealership parts manager says these bearings fail frequently on the tundras.

While driving, i had my spare tire fail off the car due to tundra spare tire lift plate rot. I was unaware of this condition and could have resulted in a serious accident.
