Tl* the contact owns a 2011 toyota tundra. While driving 35 mph, there was an abnormal whining noise coming from the steering wheel. After a few moments, the steering seized without warning. The contact managed to drive to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering pump and belt failed and needed to be replaced. The pump and belt were replaced; however, the rack and pinion needed to be repaired by a…

A recall letter was sent for 2003 tundra for undercoating. Vehicle was taken to dealership and was there for three days. I was told nothing else was needed. I brought attention to dealership about frame recall. I was told my vehicle was not under that recall although the year and model was on the site. Second issue of concern, entire steering line replaced. There was a lack of power steering. Vehicle housed for…

I was finished doing my oil change and noticed my rack and pinion boot had an oil leak on the passenger side, i wiped it off and it seems like a small leak for now. The truck on has 73.2k miles on it and it's completely stock, no modifications at all. It's a daily driver and is strictly street driven, no off roading. The rack and pinion shouldn't leak at all with this low mileage and being stock.

I noticed the low tire light was blinking, and checked all the tires for pressure, and they were fine, then i looked under the truck and saw that the bracket that holds the round bar that is part of the steering mechanism, had actually pulled completely out of the frame due to rust, this truck frame was supposedly treated in 2014, and obviously did little to take care of the problem, of frame rot. Toyota is…

Front lower ball joint recall or lack thereof. There is a current recall for toyota tundras year 2002-2004 but does not include 2000-2001 that have lower ball joints of the same design. Mine failed and so have several others around the country. Many customers have reported that their respective dealerships will not cover the repairs due to a manufacturer failed lower ball joint. I have attached a photo of the result…
